Through independent advocacy, Parners in Advocacy aims to safeguard and empower people with additional support needs to live their lives as valued, responsible and enriched citizens.

About us

Partners in Advocacy started as part of Barnardos in the 1980's, and is the oldest-established advocacy project in Scotland. It became completely independent in 1998. It was originally a citizen advocacy project for people who use learning disability services, but more recently has developed to include short-term advocacy and self-advocacy groups. We now also have a children's & young peoples advocacy service which works with children & young people with any additional support needs. As well as a mental health advocacy service for 11-21 year olds who use or have used mental health services.
